Take MGA’s artistic program to new heights
In celebration of MGA’s 30th anniversary, we are showcasing two landmark exhibitions:
Portrait of Monash: the ties that bind and Not standing still: new approaches in documentary photography part of the Photo 2020 festival.
With your help we will expand and diversify our artistic program to critically engage with photography on a global stage:
Portrait of Monash: the ties that bind
Portrait of Monash: the ties that bind will commission new works by four leading Australian artists to support and profile their artistic practice. The four new bodies of work will place the local community at the forefront of the discussion of some of the most challenging issues of our time. Key works from each artist will be selected to enter MGA's Collection.
Not standing still: new approaches in documentary photography part of the Photo 2020 festival
Not standing still: new approaches in documentary photography, is a landmark exhibition that will headline Photo 2020. Not standing still will introduce Australian audiences to leading photographers from around the world who are making new documentary photography, many never having exhibited in Australia before, and place Australian photographers alongside their contemporaries. Heralding from 11 countries, these are the photographers who are changing the way we think about documentary photography.
